Improve your feeling and the effectiveness of your aids by sitting in balance with your horse. How do you succeed in this difficult task? By incorporating mounted exercises in your daily routine. That is the motto of Susanne von Dietze, a German certified Trainer A and a physical therapist as well as the author of the book and the DVD Balance in Movement. She has become a world-renowned seat, balance and position expert and holds clinics in Germany, Israel, Japan, Scandinavia and England on a regular basis. Several German State Equestrian Colleges frequently seek her advice and book her for symposia and clinics. Additionally, she competes very successfully in the international FEI World Dressage Challenge at Advanced level. Her approach to developing an effective seat differs from that of other people in that she emphasizes the importance of improving one’s body-awareness and flexibility on the horse and not only on the ground. The combination of having received a thorough riding education from her father, a Rittmeister, who learned from Alois Podhajsky, and her training as a physical therapist provides her with the necessary expertise to address the problems of each rider in a uniquely skilled manner.

Maestoso XLIV-17

Prix St. George Champion of both days at San Francisco 50th Annual Championship Dressage Show.

Romanian Stallion (1997) pure-bred Lipizzan with LIF*-approved pedigree born at Dalnic, Transylvannia and is by Maestoso XLIV (who was the main stud at Dalnic and appeared in the most famous German book on Lipizzans, "Auf den Spuren der Lipzzaner" by Heinz Nurnberg) out of Conversano XXV-25 (who was the most successful broodmare in the country** and comes from the famous lines of Count Andrassy.)  Stoso has shown and won at Prix St. George level.

There are three major types of Lipizzans: the traditional Lipizzans of Piber and Slovakia; the artillery Lipizzan of Hungary; and the taller, lighter, more elevated Romanian Lipizzans for riding and driving.  When Piber underwent its recent reorganization, they chose to enhance their lines with ROMANIAN stock.***   Stoso is (to my knowledge) the only purebred Romanian Lipizzan in the USA, and is an exceptional example of his type.  He stands 16 hh, which is typical for this type.  His movement is breathtaking with tremendous power and activity from behind and much freedom in the shoulder.  He is elegant, supple and light-footed.  Stoso's bloodlines are very unusual; on the maternal side he is related to the rare "49 Hidas" line from the original Lipizzan mare born in 1909 at the famous stud of Count Andrassy in Hungary.  Also contained in his maternal line (though several generations back) is the Tulipan bloodline. This of special interest because after the recent reorganization at Piber, all of the Hungarian and Romanian mares and their progeny were sold  EXCEPT for those of "49 Hidas" line!  (Link to text of the message from Atjan  Hop to USLR office RE Stoso's pedigreed).
